Torque Precision workshop

Building Trust Through Competent Work

Automotive service based on technical knowledge, honest assessment, and respect for clients' decision-making autonomy.

Our Story

Torque Precision emerged from frustration with service experiences where technical explanations seemed designed to confuse rather than inform. We saw an opportunity to approach automotive service differently—treating clients as partners in maintaining their vehicles rather than as sources of revenue to be maximized through unnecessary work recommendations.

The founding principle was straightforward: perform diagnostic work accurately, explain findings clearly, and let clients make informed decisions about repairs. This approach requires technicians who can communicate as well as they can diagnose, and it means sometimes recommending that clients wait on non-urgent work or seek specialized help we can't provide.

We established our workshop in Kaki Bukit's industrial area, where overhead costs remain reasonable and we can focus resources on diagnostic equipment and training rather than showroom aesthetics. The location works well for clients throughout Singapore, with straightforward access and adequate parking for those who prefer to wait during service.

Over the years, we've developed working relationships with various vehicle makes, learning the common failure points and maintenance requirements specific to different manufacturers' engineering approaches. This familiarity allows more efficient diagnosis and helps us advise on whether genuine parts are worth their premium for specific applications.

Mission and Values

Diagnostic Accuracy

Invest time in proper diagnosis rather than replacing parts speculatively. Many symptoms have multiple possible causes, and accurate identification prevents wasted expense.

Clear Communication

Explain findings in understandable terms without condescension. Provide documentation that clients can reference and use for informed decision-making about their vehicles.

Client Autonomy

Present options and recommendations without pressure. Clients know their circumstances—budget constraints, planned vehicle retention, usage patterns—better than we do.

Quality Work

Follow proper procedures for each service type. Use appropriate torque specifications, follow proper sequences, and verify completed work functions as intended.

Professional Standards

Diagnostic Protocols

We maintain professional-grade diagnostic equipment suitable for modern vehicle systems. This includes scan tools capable of reading manufacturer-specific codes and live data, oscilloscopes for electrical diagnosis, and pressure testing equipment for mechanical systems.

All diagnostic work follows systematic procedures: gather symptoms, verify conditions, identify possible causes, test hypotheses, and confirm findings before recommending repairs. This approach takes longer than guessing but prevents unnecessary parts replacement.

Service Documentation

Each service generates written records detailing work performed, parts used with part numbers, specifications followed, and any deviations from standard procedures with reasoning. Clients receive copies for their records.

Digital service history integrates with manufacturer warranty requirements where applicable. We can provide documentation in formats needed for warranty claims or resale purposes.

Parts Selection

We source parts from established suppliers with reliable quality control. For critical components, we recommend genuine or equivalent-specification parts. For less critical items, we discuss quality-cost trade-offs openly.

All parts carry appropriate warranties, and we stand behind the quality of parts we install. If parts fail prematurely, we address the situation without arguing about responsibility.

Workplace Safety

Workshop procedures include proper lifting techniques, appropriate jack stands and support, ventilation for exhaust work, and disposal of fluids according to environmental regulations.

Equipment receives regular calibration and maintenance. Technicians use personal protective equipment appropriate to each task and follow procedures designed to prevent injury.

Our Team

Experienced technicians who value accuracy over speed and clear communication over technical jargon.

KT

Koh Teck Seng

Lead Diagnostic Technician

Fifteen years diagnosing vehicle electrical systems and engine management. Specializes in complex intermittent faults that require systematic isolation procedures.

RM

Rajesh Menon

Drivetrain Specialist

Twenty years experience with transmission and differential service. Handles manual and automatic transmission repairs with attention to proper assembly procedures.

Technical Capabilities

Our workshop handles comprehensive mechanical and electrical work on passenger vehicles. This includes engine internal repairs, transmission service and repair, suspension work, brake systems, electrical diagnosis and repair, and cooling system service. We work with most passenger vehicle makes, though some specialized European models require manufacturer-specific tools we don't maintain.

Diagnostic capabilities include professional scan tools for reading and interpreting trouble codes, oscilloscopes for electrical system analysis, pressure gauges for mechanical systems, and smoke machines for finding vacuum and evaporative emission leaks. We invest in tools that allow accurate diagnosis rather than guessing based on symptoms alone.

For scheduled maintenance, we follow manufacturer specifications while explaining what each interval includes and why certain items matter for vehicle longevity. We can advise on whether timing belt replacement intervals should follow time or mileage recommendations based on your driving patterns and storage conditions.

We maintain relationships with specialists for work outside our scope—paint and body work, upholstery repair, glass replacement, and some specialized electrical systems like advanced driver assistance calibration. Rather than attempting work we're not equipped to handle properly, we refer clients to appropriate specialists and can coordinate work when that's helpful.

Parts sourcing includes access to genuine manufacturer parts through authorized channels, quality aftermarket alternatives with established track records, and used parts when appropriate for older vehicles where new parts costs don't align with vehicle value. We discuss options with clients and explain our reasoning for each recommendation.
